On this project, I chose a book from a list of the 100 must-read classics for which I designed three new book covers; Photo based, Pattern based and Type based. I decided to do Virginia Woolf’s classic To the Lighthouse.
On the design I wanted to bring the covers to modern day while still honoring the classic. Creating a modern looking golden gradient to represent the light from the lighthouse and selecting a classic serif type binds the two worlds together.
